How to Scan Your Website and Manage Detected Services in CookieConsent

A. Run the Initial Website Scan

Step 1: Open CookieConsent from the sidebar.

Step 2: Select a company, then choose a configuration.

Step 3: Click Service settings in the top navigation.

Step 4: Open the Service settings sub-tab.

Step 5: Click Initial Website Scan.

Step 6: In the Initial Website Scan popup, enter one or more domain names
(separated by spaces).

Step 7: Click Scan to start the website scan.

The system will crawl your website and automatically detect third-party services.

B. Review Detected Services

After the scan completes, a table will appear showing detected services, including:

  • Status – Indicates whether action is required (Todo) or already completed (Done).

  • Service – Name of the detected service (e.g. Google Fonts, GitHub, Instagram).

  • Category – Type of service (Hosting, Social Media, Customer Interaction, etc.).

  • Domain – Domain responsible for the request.

  • Source – Page or script where the service was found.

C. Filter the Service List

Step 1: Use the filter above the table to view:

  • All services

  • Services that require action (Todo)

  • Services that are already configured (Done)

This helps you focus on services that still need configuration.

D. Create or Manage Services

Step 1: Click Create custom service when:

  • The service is not listed in the global vendor list

  • Manual classification is required

  • You need to define category, purpose, retention, or legal basis

The service is added to your CMP’s Data Processing Services (DPS) list.

Step 2: Click Ignore when:

  • The service is not relevant

  • It does not process personal data

  • It is a duplicate or false detection

  • You want to exclude it from your CMP

Ignored services remain hidden unless a new scan is run.
