How to Access and Edit the First Layer (Cookie Banner) Content in CookieConsent

A. Access First Layer Settings

Step 1: Open CookieConsent from the left sidebar.

Step 2: Select a consent configuration.

Step 3: Choose a configuration profile from the list.

Step 4: Click the Content tab at the top.

Step 5: Open the First layer sub-tab.


B. Set the First Layer Title

Step 1: Enter the title displayed at the top of the cookie banner
(e.g. Privacy Settings).

C. Edit the Banner Message

Step 1: Enter the main message that explains:

  • What data is collected

  • Why cookies are used

  • Whether partners are involved

  • What users can expect

You can format the content using the built-in rich-text editor:

  • Paragraphs

  • Bold text

  • Bullet lists

  • Quotes

Step 2: Click View translations to manage multilingual versions, if supported.


D. Optional: Enable Short Messages

Step 1: Enable Short Banner Message for Web or
Short Banner Message for Mobile and Tablet.

These options display a shorter message on specific devices.

E. Configure Legal Links

Step 1: Under Links, define:

  • Legal Notice text and URL

  • Privacy Policy text and URL

These links appear in the banner footer.

F. Save Your Changes

Step 1: Click Update to apply your changes.
